Lloyd is the 5th child of the late Lenorad Hogan and Kathleen Patrick. He was married to the late Elsie Walke and they had eight children: Indira, Pauli, Bena, Kamala, Vijaya, Shiva, Milo and Diallo. He also has the three orphaned children of his good friends Ron and Marcia Holder: Robin, Mark and Kim. Lloyd is currently married to Minne Belle Carman.

These 11 children have given him 20 grandchildren: Yusuf, Malika, Rahsaahn, Tahira, Tanga, Salim, Muneirah, Nujaima, Mumtaza, Ruhiya, Jowada, Hamza, Kamau, Shomari, Kelo, Khiara, Kaleb, Krystal, Enrique and Zora.

These grandchildren have given him 17 great-grandchildren: Shakir, Imani, Kaiya, Yacine, Khadija, Sarjo, Rashad, Muaawiyah, Yazid, Uthman, Umar, Lamin, Nyla, Sela, Azhan, Khalil,and Zaid.
